What was your impression of White Manor Country Club?

Years ago, we held my son’s wedding at White Manor, but I hadn’t been to the property in years. I knew the Club was under new management and was happy with the improvements that had taken place. The Club was light and bright with new chairs and looked to be well maintained.

What were you looking for in a venue?

I was looking for a venue that could accommodate 200 plus people with rooms that could be designated as a kid’s area. Food was important and I was assured that they had a top chef who could prepare whatever I requested. He did not disappoint!

How would you describe the event?

I had a party planner who coordinated all the details with the event coordinator at White Manor, Stacy, who was a dream to work with. She was very detailed and knowledgeable about the venue and was very accommodating to our many specific requests. The event was flawless thanks to the teamwork between Stacy and my party planner.

Do you have any advice for others looking to host a Bar Mitzvah?

When planning an event like a Bar Mitzvah (I’ve done a few), I look for four things — environment, food, music, and timing.

Environment
It’s not just the venue itself. I reviewed the setting, parking, and accessibility, and looked for a good, experienced event coordinator at the venue.

Food
The meal was my second focus. I look for first-rate food and a chef who can accommodate specific requests.

Music
Whether it’s a live band or a DJ, music can make or break a party.

Timing
Last but not least is timing. Every part of the party should be orchestrated to keep the flow of the party going.

Personally, I like to throw in a “surprise” during the evening. We had a guy with lighted LED hoops who put on a mini show in which my guests could see and participate.

What are the names of the vendors you used?

All of my vendors came through my party planner, Nikki, who I have worked 3 events with. All marvelous successes thanks to their meticulous work and recommendations. From lighting to flowers to decor. They do it all!
